NEWS FLASH AUSTRALIA’S hottest music festival is finally set to hit the road.
Melbourne-based Sydney’s Bowery Ballroom, known for its signature live bands and electronic music, is set to host the world’s biggest music festival, the Big Beat.
“It’s a great honour for us to bring the Big Band back to Sydney,” said promoter David Miller.
The event, which will be held at Bowerys Park in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, is one of the largest electronic music festivals in the world.
“This is going to be the biggest electronic music festival in Australia, I think the world, and it’s the best ever,” said festival co-organiser Ben Miller.
Organisers say it will feature a line-up of electronic musicians, artists and bands from across the globe, including acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Above & Beyond, and The xx.
The Bowerydancers will be joined by performers from across Sydney’s music scene, including DJ Skee, DJ Crayon, and the likes of Gossard and the Weeknd.
Bowery is home to a large number of Australian music festivals, including the Melbourne City Fair, the Sydney Soundwave Festival and the annual Big Beat festival.
“This year it’s going to go out to Sydney, it’s been fantastic,” said Ms Miller.
“I think it’s fantastic, I’m looking forward to it.”
Tickets go on sale to the public on Tuesday, July 11, at 9:00am AEDT.
