NEWSSTAND, Texas (AP) — Crazy musical music fans have a new source of entertainment in Texas: a new movie based on the hit ABC series “The Rockford Files.”
The movie, called “Crazy Rockford” (a play on the name of the Rockford County Sheriff’s Office) has been in development at a Dallas studio since last year and is set to open in theaters on Feb. 11, according to the film’s website.
The film follows the adventures of a young rocker who becomes a rock star and his band in a town of the same name, where he is raised by the local sheriff, who is a rocker himself.
The Rockettons are rockers who are rock stars.
The sheriff is a Rocketton.

The band members are Tom Mebane and John Ritter, and singer David Ritter is the band’s guitarist.
Rockettoneris the name the Rocketeers give to the sheriff’s office, and the town in which they live.
The Rocketts are the rock stars, a term used to describe rock musicians who are in rock bands and play gigs.
The term was coined in the 1970s to describe the country music group The Who, who played in Austin, Texas.
The movie will be the first film in Rockford to be made entirely from scratch.
Rockford was a small town of about 20,000 people in southeastern Texas in the 1960s and 1970s when it was home to the Rockettes, a rock band with members including guitarist Tom Mefi, bassist John Ritt, drummer Paul Smith and keyboardist Scott Soderstrom.
Rockford was one of the last communities in the U.S. to abandon the county seat of Rockford after the death of a sheriff’s deputy in 1964.
A local newspaper reported that Rockford had lost 40,000 residents in the 1950s.
The newspaper also reported that the sheriff was a local bandit who had an affair with a local woman.
Rocketons moved out of Rockforton in 1972.
The local sheriff was shot dead in 1973, but a new sheriff was elected in 1976.
Rocketts moved to a new community, Rockford City, in 2008.
Rockettones in the community were known as Rockfordies and their rock music influenced a local hip-hop group known as The Rockfordtones.
The group played at Rockford Country Club and the Rocketts and The Rockets were inducted into the Rockers Hall of Fame in 2018.
